Rare Egyptian Motif Boot Scraper, Archibald Kenrick & Sons: England, 1815-1820

This rare early 19th century boot-scraper was created by the firm of Archibald Kenrick & Sons in England during the height of Napoleons reign in France. They are made of cast-iron and are in the Egyptian taste with a pair of flanking sphinxes supported on an egg-n-dart stylized border base. The piece is marked with the foundry-mark on the underside.

Mid-Century Hollywood Regency, Fornasetti Umbrella Stand, Hot Air Balloon Motif

This whimsical umbrella stand with its motif of a hot air balloon launching between two obelisk and a distant chateau was created by the iconic firm Fornasetti in Milan, Italy. The piece has a Classic Louis XVI "joie de vivre" with its pastel colors of robins-egg blue, ecru, dark green and "Pompador Pink".
